Self-Help Housing Program

HELP BUILD YOUR OWN HOME!

SUBSIDIZED LOW-INCOME HOME LOANS!

GAIN INSTANT EQUITY!

YOU MAY BE ELIGIBLE!

YOU CAN'T AFFORD NOT TO CALL!

Self-help is a concept based upon the conviction that, given the proper tools, individuals can and will do the work necessary to improve their living conditions.

Self-Help Housing allows individuals and families to use their "sweat equity" as the down payment on the new home that they otherwise could not afford.

Groups of families, individuals, and volunteers work cooperatively to help build each others homes, just like the barn raisers of yesterday.

Umpqua CDC locates property on which to build, assists you in making an application to a lender for a self-help construction loan, provides energy efficient house plans, manages construction bill paying, and provides step-by-step construction training and oversight throughout the building process.

Homes are stick built and energy efficient. Choose your own floorplan-1, 2, and 3-bdrm plans are available.
