Supporting small businesses and growing our local economy.

The nuts and bolts...

What we do for our clients:

Educate on personal and professional finances

Guide in investigating the viability of business ideas

Connect with non-traditional sources of capital

Connect with their local business community and entrepreneur networks

Provide opportunities for collaborative marketing and branding

Preference is given to low-mod income households in Coos, Curry, and Douglas Counties.
We offer special outreach efforts to youth and disabled residents.

  • CapitalLink (OMEN's Statewide Micro-lending program)
  • Loan Amounts - 1st up to $10,000 and 2nd up to $25,000 (First loan must be satisfied.)

  • Financial Fitness Class

  • Business Plan

Dream$avers

Individual Development Accounts (IDAs):

  • For each dollar you save, grant funds match your savings
  • 3:1 match
  • Use funds to start or expand a small business

 

Community Partnerships

Umpqua CDC's MEDAL program is available to work with community economic groups and chamber's of commerce to:

  • Establish a solid vision and goals
  • Provide technical assistance in project design and implementation
  • Implement business needs assessment surveys
  • Coordinate and host educational workshops

Supporting local independent businesses and food producers while building our local economy.

  • Monthly meetings and newsletters
  • Networking for local businesses
  • Collaborative marketing and branding
  • Educational workshops
  • Public outreach to support the local economy and food system
  • We have established a local independent business alliance that provides collaborative branding, marketing, and other support.

We are working on publishing a consumer's guide to local foods.
